Visit WebsiteLudi's Restaurant stands as a beloved Seattle institution serving Filipino-American breakfast and comfort food all day in a cozy diner atmosphere. Founded by Gregorio "Greg" Rosas, who emigrated from the Philippines in 1978 and eventually took over The Turf bar and diner, the restaurant was renamed Ludi's in 2012 to honor the woman who raised him and taught him the restaurant business in Manila. After closing in 2019 due to lease issues and a fire, overwhelming community support brought Ludi's back in 2022 at 120 Stewart St near Pike Place, where it continues to draw daily lines of devoted customers. Co-owned by Rosas and his daughter Rita Glenister, Ludi's is famous for its bright purple ube pancakes (available Friday-Sunday), generous silog breakfast plates, and foot-long crispy lumpia. Greg Rosas, known as "downtown grandpa," creates a welcoming family atmosphere by memorizing customers' birthdays and treating everyone like family. The restaurant serves breakfast all day with a menu split between American diner classics and authentic Filipino breakfast staples.
